Ph 102 Philosophy of the Human Person 2
This course, as part of the Philosophy Core Curriculum, is an introduction to philosophy, but with a specific emphasis upon our being and becoming human. As its title suggests, it is the second of the two-part Philosophy of the Human Person course. While the first part of the course paved the way to a philosophical reflection upon the meaning of being and becoming human by asking the questions “What is philosophy?” and “Who am I?” the second will lead us to reflect upon the relational dimension of our being and becoming human persons. Here, we will be guided by the question: “Who am I as co-existent, as relational being?” Our reflections will be focused on the intersubjective dimension of our being and becoming human. In this semester, we will inquire into realms of the interhuman, the socius and the neighbor, human knowing, freedom and ultimately of death.
